I was waiting for this song through the WHOLE movie and when she started singing the song, I literally broke down crying. You can hear the pain in her voice and the way shes sitting on the stage shows her vulnerability at rock bottom. The most tragic part is that she didnt get herself there, it was Hollywood. Used her and tossed her away, like she was nothing. When the audience starts singing its such a symbol of how much people truly loved her and her spirit. This is absolutely and clearly one the cinema's greatest vocal performances. it leaves you with chills. Zellweger stars in this long, boring, depressing "bio" of Judy Garland toward the end of her life. If Zellweger's Texas twang and constant lip pursing aren't annoying enough, she also tries to sing.
Supporting cast makes no impression at all despite casting Louis B. Mayer as a pedophile and Sid Luft as a monster. There's also a totally fake bit with a fictional gay couple who befriend Garland in London.
Bottom line is that this is a vanity production for Zellweger from the getgo. And as vanity productions go, this one stinks.

I bet she had to stand far, far away from the mic while recording because her voice was so big. Marvelous, unique female performer of all time. everything is Judy. The ultimate version with brilliant acting, sizzling music and intense drama, it cannot be ever reached much less improvised, the cast is perfect as is soundtrack and technicolour, brilliant on all counts. Love Zellweger. Everything she's in. She's one actress who has got better with each film she does. She's frightening as Judy. You'll not get anything or anyone else as close to Judy.

As for the film itself it's just terribly sad. Poor Judy should have taken her kids and just walked away from it all. The business. The people who were letting her down. She'd probably lived a longer life.
